The Development Associate is responsible for assisting in and supporting fundraising operations within Veterans Yoga Project which include general operating and program funding efforts, event management and donor identification and stewardship. They will also participate in the full range of activities required to seek, acquire and manage grants from foundations, corporations, other nonprofit organizations, civic groups and governmental entities. The Development Associate will report to the Development Director and work with a team of VYP collegues and volunteers .  This is a volunteer role.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Development (DD). The DD reports to
the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and works with the Executive team to build on existing
fundraising activities to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, grantors, and sponsors. The DD must
be passionate about the mission, needs and value proposition of Veterans Yoga Project (VYP), and
build relationships with donors and prospective donors to increase philanthropic support – all
aligned with the strategic plan. This position also requires attention to detail to make sure the
“back of the house” is highly functioning to support development and organizational efforts.

opportunities to donate to VYP.

Maintain records of goods ordered and delivered. Documentation to include: brochures, training inserts, practice library cards, VYP stickers, business cards, posters, event invitations, letters, donation envelopes,banners, training manuals, schedules, evaluation sheets, focus sheets,
appreciation plaques, all pertaining to VYP’s daily business needs.

sends receipts and invoices to accounting, and ensures items arrive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. The purchaser for the outreach material position receives the orders and processes
the requests by getting approval from the State Director, Regional Director, or
Director of Field Operations.
2. Place the orders directly with the supplier and review the order and art before
sending the material to print.
3. Submit the supplier’s invoice for payment and make sure the invoice is paid.
4. Follow up with the financial department to submit the receipt /invoice to charge the
state for the order.
5. Ensure the order was received and complete the task on Asana.

The (State) Development Coordinator is an unpaid virtual volunteer position. This role will assist with fundraising efforts to increase brand awareness and grow our community of donors. The objective is to identify, steward and encourage our community of supporters to make donations to Veterans Yoga Project (VYP). This role directly contributes to VYP’s vision and mission to support recovery and resilience among our veterans, active-duty military members, their families, and communities, caregivers and first responders. Working collaboratively with the national Director of Development, the Director of Regions, Area and State Directors, and others as necessary, Fundraising Coordinators will use tools and supports provided by the national team to invigorate fundraising at the local and statewide level and may be called upon to direct a team of in-state volunteers or work with other state’s Fundraising Coordinators on special initiatives. Support from the national team will include but not be limited to fundraising campaign plan templates, donor communications templates, solicitation guides and tools for corporate sponsorships and product donations, solicitation guides and tools for individual donors, solicitation guides for DIY fundraising, sourcing for in-state family foundation and community giving programs, grant preparation support, training and more! This position is responsible for providing guidance and support to VYP trained teachers at a state level. Reports back to the Regional Director in order to coordinate any support needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The State Coordinator: 1. Works directly with the Regional Director to analyze ways to grow the State, finds strengths and challenges at the state working with area managers and teachers in order to grow the State. 2. Works in coordination with the State Development Manager and the State Outreach Manager, in order to create marketing and development opportunities for the State. 3. Maintains a list of VYP trained teachers in the State and responds to requests for programs or classes from organizations and veterans. 4. Reviews State team members, including Ambassadors in the region, to report volunteer hours in Neon monthly. 5. Works directly with the Area Managers in order to provide support to the teachers. 6. Makes sure teachers who are teaching VYP classes are reporting their classes, accordingly, gives support to teachers on how to report the attendance. 7. Assists & coordinates with the Regional Director in finding locations for MRT’s in order to bring more teachers to the State or reach out to studios in order to promote online MRT’s at the local level. 8. Meets monthly with all the Area Managers in the state in order to understand the situation or needs of each area.

This position is responsible for keeping VYP teachers, ambassadors, and volunteers in their area informed of activities, new programs, VYP events, and marketing/PR campaigns, and vacancies within a specific US VYP Region through a closed Facebook group, email or other means. This position will work with both their Regional Director, State Coordinator & Area Managers as well as VYP HQ marketing and PR, to ensure that national events are promoted within their region, and S(he) arranges for VYP representation at regional yoga conferences, festivals, and expos, and is also responsible for reaching out to local media (with guidance from VYP HQ) to promote and publicize local VYP activities and our mission of resilience and recovery. The Outreach Manager should be aware of other veterans’ programs and resources in the region and refer veterans to partner programs and resources, as appropriate. State Outreach Coordinator should have completed MRT and MRCF courses.
